One Hundred Thousand Beating Hearts from Peter Byck on Vimeo. Bluffton is a town in Clay County, Georgia, United States. A bluff is a high, steep bank, as by a river or the sea, or beside a ravine or plain; a cliff with a broad face. Georgia’s northern part is in the Blue Ridge Mountains, part of the Appalachian Mountains system. Bluffton’s Clay County is in the southwest portion of the state, where the Chattahoochee River separates Georgia from Alabama.
The area was originally the ancestral homelands of the Muscogee, also known as the Creek, Indigenous Americans of the Southeastern Woodlands. Chattahoochee is Muskogean for “rocks-marked”.
